There’s a tremendous tendency to think of humans as apart from nature, when we really have a deep and fundamental need to interact with nature to ensure our wellbeing. There’s a tremendous tendency to think of humans as apart from nature, when we really have a deep and fundamental need to interact with nature to ensure our wellbeing. It seems like many people, including many women, are uncomfortable in the outdoors because of this distance we create. I hope that we can engage people in stewardship because it provides a wonderful opportunity to interact with nature in ways that are restorative for the individual, human communities and the land.
