Assistant Professor of Environmental Science, Stockton University

The Stockton University Environmental Science program is seeking to fill a tenure track position, at the rank of Assistant Professor, with a Forest Ecologist to teach forestry and related courses, as well as continue the implementation of Stockton’s unique Forest Management Plan, for September 2019. Preference will be given to those who have a demonstrated past experience actively managing forests on the private, state or federal levels, using the precepts of ecological forest management.  The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching in the Environmental Science program, as well as in the interdisciplinary General Studies curriculum.  Additionally, a commitment to university service and continuing research activity is required. 
 
Responsibilities: 

  • Lead students in the Forestry Concentration within the Environmental Science program by teaching courses in Ecological Forest Management, Dendrology, and additional upper level courses related to expertise. 
  • Contribute to the core Environmental Science curriculum by teaching a program core course, (e.g., Statistical Analysis of Ecological Systems or Ecological Principles). 
  • Develop a laboratory-based research program involving undergraduate students. 
  • Contribute to the interdisciplinary general studies curriculum.
