Join this all day tour of the 130-acre Wicopy Woods Tree Farm in Sebec, ME. The tour will focus on silvicultural treatments employed during harvest operations conducted in 2017 and ongoing long-term bird research that is being conducted at this Forest Stewards Guild Model Forest.

Themes: Irregular shelterwood silviculture; effect of composition, structure, and harvest removals on forest bird populations; long-term research and monitoring; understory beech and fir control; managing mechanical harvesting using tree marking and trail layout; enrichment planting of white pine and red oak (including tree shelters); crop-tree release of immature northern hardwoods and white pine; silviculture of large-diameter white pine.
