Forester/Forest Ecologist, Maine

The Trust has recently acquired a 2100-acre forest block, which it will use for education, research, and long-term conservation forest management. We will add another 2000-acre block to our holdings. Both these parcels have been logged hard in the recent past, and we are looking for someone with the skills and vision to begin the process of rehabilitation. The goal is to manage for long-term ecological health, wildlife habitat, and sustainable forest products. We very much want these forests to be part of our educational outreach, and we are seeking a person who is interested in teaching people about forests and forest management, as well as practicing these things.
This position will also be involved in the stewardship of the Trusts other fee properties and easements. The responsibilities for this part of the job will include helping with monitoring, boundary work, trail management, and other related tasks.
