Service Forester

Statutory mandates for which the service forester is responsible include: the Massachusetts Forest Cutting Practice Act, the Forest Tax Law, and Certification of forest land. Other areas of responsibility include technical assistance, education and outreach, statewide assignments and interagency cooperation. The Service Forester provides general technical assistance to forest landowners on forest management programs and activities. Also, provide outreach and education to addtional audiences, regulate the harvest of forest products from all private and public lands in the Commonwealth, and more.
