Whether in Wisconsin or Nova Scotia Canada, forestry professionals are being challenged to respond to an increasing array of competing objectives. The issues are often beyond the scope of our individual capacity, and solutions call for a more collaborative approach. Join Will Martin for a discussion of his work testing new ways for the sector to work together in Nova Scotia. Hear about creating the first community forest in eastern Canada, running a Forestry Lab for cross sector innovation, and bringing the internet sharing economy to family forests.

About Will Martin: Will Martin has spent the past 15 years actively exploring the dynamics between rural communities and the natural resources they depend on. He co-chairs the Medway Community Forest Co-op to reimagine the model for timber management on public land, served as President of the Nova Scotia Woodlot Owners and Operators Association to foster leadership and shared learning amongst landowners, and recently launched to foster cooperation and healthier markets for family forest owners.
