The Forest Stewards Guild wants to help current natural resource professionals connect with the next generation of forest stewards through internship opportunities. Does your business have a paid summer internship? Are you an independent consultant with time to help a student gain boots-on-the-ground experience? Do you feel called to mentor students in forestry and related disciplines to help share the ethics of the Forest Stewards Guild in practice?

The MobilizeGreen-Forest Service Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) program includes multiple 3-week residential programs for diverse young people aged 15-18. YCC Crew Leaders will lead teams of 12 completing conservation projects in National Forests during the day and will facilitate environmental education, professional and personal development, and outdoor recreation activities in the evenings and on days off.

Conservation Forestry Internship - The Forestland Group

The Charles Collins Internship Program in Conservation Forestry will identify one candidate each year to address a conservation issue relevant to TFG’s ownership through a practical experience across a 12week time frame.  Projects should focus on managed forests and may be domestic or international in scope.  Mentorship for the intern will be provided by TFG staff and consultants.  Other project-specific resources will be made available to ensure the quality of both the internship experience and the final products.  The Collins Internship comes with a $10,000 stipend (12-weeks) plus travel expenses.

The Forest Stewards Guild seeks a student or recent graduate with some experience in forestry and wildlife ecology and a strong desire to learn new skills. Guild interns perform forestry tasks alongside US Fish and Wildlife Service staff. The 26-week position is a supervised work and learning experience based at the Carolina Sandhills National Wildlife Refuge, McBee, South Carolina. Additional work will occur at the Pee Dee NWR near Wadesboro, NC.
